In the early days of operation we began supporting local musicians as we managed and hosted the website for the Austin, Texas iconic live performance venue, the Continental Club. In recent years we have focused our attention on several not-for-profit organizations where we can readily see the results of their significant outreach and hard work. Dot Command Center is dedicated to supporting our community and our selected charities reflect our commitment in giving back.
Currently we offer our expertise and counsel to freely support the Abundant Life Foundation and Majesty Outdoors, providing these organizations with web site design and maintenance, network support and hosting for DNS, mail and websites.
Below is a brief profile of each of these great organizations.
Abundant Life Foundation (ALF) was started in 2004 by Brenda and Dave Dachner, both local to Austin, Texas where they enjoy their home in the Lakeway area and where Dave has been in the oil and gas business his adult life. A generous person, Dave has funded ALF largely through profits from his own professional ventures. Abundant Life Foundation hosts relevant local projects including recently, a community center in Woodville, Texas near Houston, where the Foundation has invested more than $500,000 dollars for the construction and maintenance of the award-winning facility.
Through their travels in Central America, Brenda and Dave have identified needed services to benefit the residents in the community of Roatan, Honduras. In Roatan they started mentorship programs for children and adults, a school fund to benefit bilingual education, and college funds to assist higher education. Currently ALF is providing funding to build a primary school on an adjacent island. Their work continues.
Majesty Outdoors is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit entity started in 2008 by Susan and Bill Blodgett. Bill is a professional fisherman and champion redfish fisherman who was compelled to start a TV show that focused on fatherless teens in the United States. When Bill explained to friends he wanted to create a national TV show, he was told the odds were one in a million it would come to fruition. However, with undeniable determination, perseverance, hard work and a tremendous “faith in God”, the show now airs on the NBC Sports.
Majesty Outdoors is currently nominated for “Best Conservation Show” and “Best Music” in an outdoor series. Additionally Majesty Outdoors has received two 2011 Telly Awards for Film/Video and the People's Award. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. Since 1978, the mission has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. The 32nd Annual Telly Awards received over 11,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.
Majesty Outdoors was voted best new fishing show on the Versus network in 2009, and currently enjoys a long list of local and national sponsors who support this great program. Teenagers who are selected as guests on the weekly program have their lives changed forever by their fishing experience and mentorship with Bill. As a result of the Majesty Outdoors nationally televised broadcast and outreach, other mentoring programs have been initiated around America, resulting in positive changes to countless lives beyond the teenagers appearing on the show.
